Absolutely LOVE Halloween. It is way too fun! The boys love picking out their costume and wearing it over and over again! Our wonderful babysitters carved a pumpkin with them this year so we didn't get that fun or going to the pumpkin patch as we normally do but we did do the following:
Went and saw "Hotel Transylvania" - what a fabulous movie - I, I mean the boys, want to own it! Very clever movie and not that scary at all!
We went to the Trick-or-treat street at Ralston Valley High - they do a great job - each hallway has a theme and the highschoolers stand on each side and throw candy in the kids buckets - the boys scored huge on candy there!
On Halloween itself, the school has a parade so you can see everyone's costumes. My favorite was this short little guy as a sumo wrestler - I laughed so hard watching him walk!! Afterwards, they have their class parties filled with treats and fun activities. Andy made ornaments and Ethan decorated a pencil. I was impressed with all the creativity of the snacks the mom's provided.
When it was time to trick or treat - we had the neighborhood kids meet at our house for our annual picture on the steps and then they were off. We had a huge group this year and we didn't all stay together but it was a kick!
The only sadness was the boys got tired early this year. All the parents were in disbelief saying, "really? You're done??" We were ready to go to new neighborhoods and knock on more doors!
Good times!
